Outpatient medical treatment involves the provision of medical care, in which there is no need for hospitalization or admission of the patient for inpatient treatment at a clinic.
In the case of a disease, the patient at the first stage turns to the family doctor, who, if necessary, gives directions to diagnostic laboratory and instrumental examinations or to an appointment with narrow specialists.
In contrast to inpatient treatment, such therapy does not require a constant and long stay in the clinic under round-the-clock supervision of staff. During outpatient treatment, procedures vary in complexity and duration, including testing, diagnostic examinations, intramuscular or intravenous injection of drugs, etc. The duration of treatment depends on the initial state of health of the patient and the type of services provided.
